Understanding Teen Mental Health
During these teenage years, young minds are experiencing significant brain development. Common Mental Health Challenges in Teens

As a parent or caregiver, it is completely normal to have feelings of uncertainty about how to help your child get past these challenges. Here are some ways to support them:
Open Communication: Encourage your teen to share their thoughts and feelings by creating a space where they feel safe expressing themselves without fear of judgement.
Validate their emotions: Acknowledge your teens emotions, even when they seem irrational. Validation not having to agree with them or their feelings but to show them that it is okay to feel the way they do.
Model Healthy Coping Skills: Introduce positive ways to manage stress whether being through mindfulness, exercise, creativity, or seeking professional help when they are in need of it.
Be aware of warning signs: Sudden changes in behavior, drastic mood swings, loss of interest in activities, and isolation are all potential warning signs of a mental health issue.
